About Farah
My cultural background, coming from Dutch and Spanish parents, set the stage for me to master five languages. I was first introduced to the field of fashion and cosmetics as an international fashion model for a decade, when I spent most of my teenage years traveling between all the major fashion capitals.
My passion for cosmetics and beauty, as well as my gifted talent for public speaking, made me an excellent candidate for the big names and powerhouses of the field. I began to teach all over North America.
In 2003, as I survived cancer, my beauty focused career took a turn to wellness. I made the necessary changes to live a healthy, stress-free life. As a spa consultant and therapist, I worked in many spas in Montreal, such as Spa St James, Spa Eastman, Balnea and the Windsor Arms in Toronto, as a Spa director.
My devotion to care for others became clearer
In 2007, I went to Maui, Hawaii, where I received my first LOMI LOMI massage. I could feel the healing benefits of this beautiful ritual. It is upon my return from that journey that I decided that the next one would be to India. I met my mentor shortly after and from this moment, I valued my life and appreciated every precious moment, realizing that every day is a gift.
In 2008, I followed my dream and traveled to India on my first spiritual retreat. I made it an annual ritual.
Four years later, in 2012, I pursued my studies in Ayurveda, a form of traditional medicine practised in India. I studied in Kerala, India, with Ayurvedic doctors.
My quote : “Healing first starts with the Self”
My calling for the Reiki and Ayurveda methods was clear. Today, I teach Reiki and Kundalini Yoga.I also volunteered for many years at Hope and Cope, a wellness center in Montreal. At the center, I provided loving care to cancer patients from the Jewish General Hospital, to which the center is affiliated.
I am a registered Reiki practitioner and a member of the Canadian Reiki Association.I have been working as a massage therapist and Ayurvedic therapist,Hypnotherapist for 16 years now. I am registered with the National Association of Massage Therapists(NAM) and with the National Association of Naturopaths (NAN).The Science of Ayurveda has helped me heal and understand myself and others. Good health is achieved when your mind, body and spirit are in harmony with the universe.
Ten years ago, I was in Auroville, India, visiting one of my favorite holistic center, the one where I took an introduction class to thai yoga massage. This was the missing link between Ayurveda and yoga.
I am so grateful to share my life mission and practice my calling.
Namaste
